“Are you tired of having no self-confidence?”
Does it seem like your life has no purpose? Or does your lack of self-confidence limit your relationships, job opportunities, social interactions, the pursuit of your dreams, and overall happiness? Do you feel like the person that you present to the world isn’t really you? Does feeling anxious lead to second guessing yourself, worrying about what you said in social or professional situations, feeling disrespected by others, and endless self-criticizing? Is not believing in yourself taking its toll on your life? If so, counseling can help you.
The good news is that low self-esteem is learned. Since you learned it, you can unlearn it. People learn to not feel good about themselves for all kinds of reasons, including the experience of traumatic events, cultural conditioning, and dysfunctional relationship patterns which often begin during childhood. With support you can learn how to:
You’re not. It is possible for anyone to change their negative beliefs about themselves simply because they are not true! We all make mistakes in life, and we all deserve to feel valued and happy.
This is a common reason why many people continue to struggle with low self-esteem. Fear of failure is a trap, preventing self-growth and change. You really can’t fail. “The only real failure in life is the failure to try.”- Anonymous
It can be very difficult to create lasting change in your life without ongoing support, feedback, and an understanding of why you do what you do, and how your behaviors serve you. Even the most dysfunctional behavior serves a purpose. I can help you through a complete process of change. Once you experience success, your self-esteem and confidence will improve, allowing you to make the changes you want to in your life.

all started with a banner….I used to teach 4th and 5th grade in an inner-city elementary school. On the wall in my classroom was a long banner that read, “When you believe in yourself, anything is possible.” I was always amazed by how that banner impacted my students. I would hear them repeating the words to encourage each other when an assignment was difficult, or saying it to me when I would lapse into some explanation about why we couldn’t do something as a class. I found myself repeating the message on that banner as a sort of mantra, especially when I was taking a risk to begin something new, or asking my students to do the same. My passion for believing that people could succeed and live the life of their dreams through inner-strength and self-confidence led me to pursue a degree in psychotherapy.
I graduated from Naropa University in Boulder, CO with a Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychotherapy in 2003. At Naropa I learned what it meant to be in the present moment, how to slow down, the wisdom of feeling, how to have compassion for myself as well as others, and that how I defined myself was, at best, a small prison cell. Through the study of Eastern Philosophy, Buddhism, and Western Psychology as well as the help of some wise teachers, therapists, and meditation instructors, I began to understand that each and every one of us is so much more than our limited, conditioned beliefs about who we think we are. Since I graduated, I have found myself called to work with people who believe that something is inherently wrong with them- and helping them see that this conditioned sense of self is not who they are. My passion in life is to shine the light of truth on this low self-esteem epidemic in the West and to help people live their lives based on their gifts and passions instead of their fears and insecurities. I believe that with support each and every one of us can overcome our belief that we are not good enough and live the life that we are meant to live. I love helping people with therapy. Golden, Co is a great place to live and work.
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
